Aiken Technical College (ATC) opened in 1973 and has grown into a multi-service, two-year comprehensive college. It offers a variety educational programs in college transfer, health, public service, business, industrial, engineering technology and computer technology programs.
Annually 3,400 students enroll in credit courses annually and under non-credit offerings are nearly 10,000 people per year.
ATC has been accredited by the Commission on Colleges of the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools.

Public Service School has certificates in careers such as Gerontology, Childcare Managements and Alcohol and Drug Abuse for those people who like to help others.
In the Health field ATC has programs in Associate Degrees en Radiology Technology, Diplomas in Dental Assisting, Practical Nursing and Surgical Technology and Certificates in Health Science, Medical Assistant, Medical Coding, Pre-Dental Hygiene, Pre-Pharmacy Technician and Pre-Physical Therapist Assistant.
This College has an open-door admission policy. People interested must have a high school diploma or its equivalent, be at least 18 years and must participate in placement testing prior to acceptance.
