Blue Ridge Community College (BRCC) was created in 1967 and since then, it has been recognized for its exemplary programs and services, technological innovation, community leadership and graduates who make a difference.
BRCC has the mission to deliver college level technical education, college, university transfer education, general, developmental and continuing education and workforce training. It also provides a comprehensive program of services to students and community and establishes an intellectual environment and organizational culture that encourages and supports excellent achievement.
Its comprehensive program includes associate degrees, diplomas and certificates in occupational/technical and university transfer programs.
The academic program includes Associate in Applied Science degree in Health Technology with a major in nursing which is designed to prepare students to qualify as contributing members of the health team.
Graduates from this program can be eligible to take the National Council Licensure Examination to obtain the license to be a Registered Nurse, necessary to be employed as one. The program is accredited by the State Board of Nursing and by the National League for Nursing Accrediting Commission.
