Dr. Beth Brooks to Speak at the Nursing Management Congress

Brooks, PhD, RN, CHE, and Senior Partner at JWT Employment Communications, will present Hiring the Best Through Behavioral Interviewing at the Nursing Management Congress (NMC) in Orlando, Florida. Dr. Brooks holds management responsibilities for the integrated offerings to health care employers at JWT Employment Communications, one of the world?s largest recruitment marketing and internal communications companies.

The conference will be held October 9th - 12th, at Disney?s Contemporary Resort in Lake Buena Vista, Florida and is sponsored by Lippincott Williams & Wilkins, publisher of Nursing Management journal. NMC 2005 is a platform for new, experienced, and aspiring nurse managers to take a hard look at some of the most crucial issues facing nursing management today.

Dr. Brooks was on faculty in the College of Nursing at the University of Illinois at Chicago, where she was Associate Dean for Education Outreach, responsible for developing partnerships with health care providers to provide on-site degree programs, and the Executive Director of the Institute for Healthcare Innovation ? the College?s faculty consulting practice. She also directed the Graduate Program in Administrative Nursing where she taught the human resource management course. She founded The Brooks Group, Inc., a health care consulting and training company dedicated to improving the quality of nursing work life. Previously, Dr. Brooks worked in employment communications, as a nurse recruiter, and as a nurse manager and director. She is widely published in the nursing administration and health care management literature and presents workshops internationally and nationally.

A graduate of Valparaiso University (B.S.N.), Dr. Brooks received an M.S. degree in Nursing Administration from Northwestern University and a Ph.D. in Nursing Science from the University of Illinois at Chicago. Dr. Brooks is also a board certified health care executive (CHE).
