Bucks County Community College was created in 1964 to fulfill the need for a public two-year college. Bucks? mission is to provide accessible, affordable, convenient and comprehensive educational, training and cultural opportunities.

This college seeks to prepare students to transfer to four-year institutions, develop the social and ethical responsibility for students, continue to improve teaching, learning, service and technical proficiencies and prepare students to enter the workforce.

In addition to the campus in Newtown, Bucks County Community College has the Upper County Campus and the Bristol Center.

The Certificate Programs into Continuing Education offer a practical, concentrated study in a specific area, into Healthcare field is the Nurse Aide, Nursing Review and Re-entry, Pharmacy Technician, Practical Nursing and Radiology.

Pharmacy Technician Certificate Program is a comprehensive, fifty hours didactic course that prepares students to enter the pharmacy area in community pharmacies, hospitals and home infusion pharmacies.

Radiology obtains the ability to use X-ray equipment and is the responsible for protective procedures and devices to guard both the patient and personnel from radiation hazard. Radiographer can work in hospitals, clinics, physicians? offices, public health, mobile x-ray companies and industry.

Practical Nurse provides the emotional and physical comfort and safety of patients, observes, records and reports changes in patients, administer medications and therapeutic treatments.

Nurse Aide handles the routine tasks related to patient care. For example, they take and record vital signs, assist with bath and personal hygiene needs, change bed lines and keep patients? room in order and neat.
