Camden Country College: Healthy Excellence

Camden County College was founded in 1967; almost 40 years ago. The attendance of the college started to grow in 1969 when they offered an evening diploma-completion program to 20 students that had finished 10th grade but not graduated from high school. Thus, they contributed to help them pass the GED (General Education Development).

Today they are organized in three different campuses: Blackwood, Camden and Cherry Hill. Because of these great physical resources Camden Country College has an enrollment of around 30,000 credit students and thousands of more non-credit students per year.

All the students that are enrolled in this College have a variety of resources at their disposal some of them are: a bookstore, childcare, computer labs, financial aid, library services, test center, transfer services, tutoring, special needs and student employment.  Furthermore they also offer other assets in order to enhance the lifestyle of their students.  For example, they have complete access to a fitness center, different types of clubs and bus trips sponsored by the office of Student Life and Activities.

In order to apply for financial aid it is necessary to fill-out the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA), which the Department of Education must process. Later on the College will receive the results. The Department of Education will send the applicant the Aid Report (SAR) approximately 3 or 4 weeks after completing the FAFSA.

The institution offers, not only a great range of health programs such as Certified Nursing Assistant, Multi-Skilled Technician and Medical Office Administrator but also an important diversity of health-related courses.

Some of them are: Medical Terminology of Allied Health Careers, Spanish for Health Care Professionals, Certificate Program in Medical Billing and Coding, Pharmacy Technician, Medical Secretarial Program and Nurse Entrance Test Preparation (NET).  Certificates in this area are also available, for example: Certificate in Gerontology and Certificate in Pain Assessment and Management.  These certificates are online programs.
