Central Virginia Community College: Where Your Future Begins!

Central Virginia Community College (CVCC) is located in Lynchburg, Virginia.  The name of the College was chosen in 1967 when the college was established. Classes were given in temporary quarters during 1967 and 1968.  In this last year the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools accredited the institution. Their Quality First Program was created in 1989. Today the College is a member of the 23-college Virginia Community College System and their associate degree curricula was recognized by the State Council of Higher Education for Virginia.      

This institution offers interesting and remarkable programs of study that belong to the division of Business and Allied Health. Associates in Applied Science Degrees (AAS) are awarded to individuals who are taking occupational-technical programs and planning to obtain a full-time job afterwards. A Career Studies Program Certificate is awarded to individuals completing one of the approved career studies programs. In CVCC, AAS and Certificates are offered for Health programs. Medical Laboratory Technology, Emergency Medical Services ? Paramedic, Radiologic Technology and Respiratory Therapy Technology are positioned in the category of AAS. Certificates are available for the Emergency Medical Technician career; which is categorized in Basic and Intermediate, Medical Coding, Medical Transcription, Nursing Preparation, Optician Theory and Pharmacy Technology.

In addition to what you can learn at CVCC they are concerned about offering the best quality, not only in what they teach but also in the kind of student life that individuals may experiment. For that matter a lot of facilities and academic resources are available embracing different kinds of laboratories, counseling centers, bookstores and student centers, financial aid, library, learning resource centers, distance education classrooms, tennis courts and vehicle parking among others. This way the College provides students with an integral growth.
