Chattahoochee Valley Community College: A Combination of Key Factors

Health Care Schools

This beautiful College was created in 1973 in Phenix City, Alabama.  The purpose of the creation of this institution was to serve, in general, people from the counties of Russell, Bullock, Lee, Macon and Barbour in addition to Fort-Benning-Columbus, Georgia and, of course, Phenix City.  One year later, their doors were opened in temporary quarters.  In 1976, they moved to its current location at 2602 College Drive.  Five years ago, their enrollment was of around 1739 students.  Among the eight buildings the infrastructure encompasses, there is a health and physical education building.

The institution works hard to provide their students with the best academic environment in order for them to feel as comfortable as they would do at home.  The student services they offer range from bookstore and sports activities to disability services, financial aid and counseling/advising.

If your academic interests are circumscribed to the health field, CVCC is, definitely, an appropriate option for you to analyze. The accreditation of the CVCC programs of study demonstrates their quality.  For instance, the Alabama Board of Nursing and the National League for Nursing accredit and approve the Nursing program.  In addition, all agencies that they use as clinical experience are pertinently recognized by the corresponding organization or institution.  In regards to nursing, CVCC offers the degree of Associate in Applied Science (AAS).  Besides this, Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN), Emergency Medical Services and Practical Nursing (LPN) are available.  The emergency medical training is given for the EMT Level I Basic.  On the other hand, the College confers their PN students the possibility of completing a one-year curriculum that leads to the Practical Nursing Certificate.  Once the students graduate, they get to be a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN).
