Citrus College: 90 Years of Service

Health Care Schools

Citrus College; which is the oldest college in the area of Los Angeles, is located in Glendora, California. Their doors were opened 90 years ago and since 1961 they have grown because their service area has broadened.  Now, they serve the United Schools Districts of Azusa, Glendora, Bradbury, Claremont, Duarte and Monrovia. In 1915 they had only 28 students enrolled with them. Today they have over 12,000 students per semester.

The institution is a member of the American Association of Community Colleges, the Community College League of California and the Servicemembers Opportunity Colleges. These memberships provide them with great prestige.  However, the facts that prove the high-quality of the institution do not end here. Citrus is approved by well-known organizations such as the Council on Dental Education of the American Dental Association and the Bureau for Private Postsecondary and Vocational Education and the Department of Consumer Affairs for Veterans Education Benefits, among others.

If you are willing to find a health related program of study, this is the opportunity for you. You will be able to get the ideal college that make you grow in an integral way. Today, they offer the programs that allow professionals to be successful; for example: Dental Assistance, Nursing and Emergency Medical Technology. The Registered Dental Assisting Program is accredited by the Dental Board of California. Licensed Vocational Nurses are able to work in acute and long-term facilities such as clinics, hospitals, offices of doctors and other areas related to health. Emergency Technical Technicians (EMT-B) will be able, not only to qualify for the County and National Registry Certification but also to work in the emergency department of a hospital, a clinic, a search and rescue agency, an ambulatory care facility and an ambulance service.
