Kennedy-King College: The Feeling of Success

Health Care Schools

Kennedy-King College was created in Chicago when Crane Technical High School started classes in 1911. This establishment became the roots of Crane Junior College. In 1969, they changed their name to the current one; their previous name was Woodrow Wilson Junior College. Their philosophy is, mainly, to accept all the students who fulfill the requirements set up by the institution and help them achieve their goals in the economic, cultural and social aspects of life.

This college is fully approved by the North Central Association of Colleges and Schools and accredited by the Illinois Community College Board and the Illinois Office of Education, Department of Adult, Vocational and Technical Education. However, the Division of Health is also accredited by many recognized organizations and associations; for example, the Nursing Program has received accreditation from the Illinois Department of Regulations and from the National League for Nursing Accrediting Commission. In addition, the Commission on Dental Accreditation of the American Dental Association, which is a recognized accrediting body, has given credit to the Dental Hygiene Program.

The institution offers many different health related disciplines including: Dental Hygiene, Health, Health Science, Mental Health/Addiction Studies, Nursing and Pharmacology.  Besides these disciplines they offer a Department called Health Technology (HT), which provides students with various Health Occupations. In KKC, Nursing students are prepared to work in different sites or facilities such as clinics, private homes, home health agencies, hospitals, offices of physicians and governmental agencies. Graduates in Dental Hygiene will be able to provide specialized services in therapeutic clinics and preventive oral healthcare industries.  If you really want to experience how success feels, just get enrolled in Kennedy-King College.
