Silanis Presents at Business Forms Management Association's 2006 Canadian Institute

(PRWEB) January 25, 2006 -- Silanis Technology, the industry?s most experienced electronic signature provider with more than two million users and consumers in business and government, announced today that Tommy Petrogiannis, Co-Founder and President, will present two educational seminars on electronic signatures at the Business Forms Management Association?s 2006 Canadian Forms Institute, January 26-27. The two-day event offers a north of the border perspective on the topic of forms and information systems designs.

The first session entitled ?eSignature Requirements Gathering for Effective Requests for Proposal? is scheduled for Thursday, January 26, 3:00 pm EST. The starting point for any successful approval automation initiative is to understand and document your requirements. Business, operational, and technical considerations must be balanced according to the risk associated with the targeted processes. The importance of properly understanding requirements prior to evaluating solutions cannot be overestimated. Detailed requirements provide a blueprint for the right solution, and facilitate the evaluation and selection process. An internal requirements gathering checklist and a sample Request for Proposal will be will be provided during this presentation.

The second session entitled ?How to Turn Electronic Forms into Enforceable e-Contracts? is scheduled for Friday, January 27, 8:30 am EST. Contracts are used throughout business and government to reduce the risk involved in critical processes and transactions. Ensuring the enforceability of these contracts is a critical concern especially when bringing processes online. ?One of toughest challenges organizations face when moving their business to the web is identifying what laws, regulations and policies apply to them, and how to go about meeting compliance requirements,? says Michael Laurie, Co-Founder and Vice-President of Silanis. ?If they fail to comply, they run the risk that their electronic records and agreements will not stand up in a court of law should they be disputed by the various parties involved.?

The challenge for many however is figuring out how to capture legally enforceable approvals with external parties in a secure, yet, easy manner. In this session, Mr. Petrogiannis will share real-world examples of how leading organizations such as GSA and Quicken Loans have overcome these challenges and are using electronic forms and signatures to automate the contracting process with vendors, citizens, customers, and employees.
