Medical / Dental Receptionist Training at Apollo College

The College opened its doors in 1976 and prepares some 4,000 students annually from its 16 programs in Allied Health and Computer Technology. Apollo earned a national accreditation by ABHES and has developed partnerships with employers, the Graduate Placement Department at Apollo is often recognized for extremely high placement rates. The College carefully monitors trends and can move quickly to offer cutting edge curriculum to meet the demand of employers.

Medical / Dental Receptionist:
The Medical / Dental Receptionist Program teaches front office procedures for medical and dental general practices, specialty practices, and clinics. This program includes instruction in professional ethics, medical and dental terminology, medical and dental insurance, use of office equipment, CPR training, patient charting, and vital signs. The student also receives basic training in computer software including word processing, spreadsheets, and database management.
The program provides students with the knowledge and skills needed to work in the front office of health care providers. Graduates of this program are prepared for employment as a front office receptionist with duties that may include, not only serving patients, but also records management and insurance processing.
Upon completion of classroom instruction and practical training, students perform learned skills during a 160-hour externship in a physician's office, dentist's office, clinic, or other approved medical/dental care facility. The externship phase of training provides students with the opportunity to practice skills learned in the classroom environment and translate these skills to application in an actual practice.

It's a fact that financial aid is available to those who qualify! Apollo College is accredited by ABHES, recognized by the United States Government as an approved National accrediting agency. Therefore, our students that are eligible for financial aid can apply for all of the same federal grants and loans that they would qualify for if they applied to any major university.
Once you have decided on a course of study, our financial aid officer will look at your individual situation based on applications. Apollo College participates in a wide variety of state and federal financial aid programs, as well as alternative loans. If eligible, these can be used as an additional source of funding for tuition, books, and tools.
