Hamilton College, Dental Assistant

The Dental Assistant program of study is designed to provide students with the knowledge, technical skills and work habits required for entry-level positions as dental assistants. The program prepares students to function effectively as integral members of the dental health team and to perform chair side assisting and related office and laboratory procedures under the direction and supervision of a dentist.

The program consists of a minimum of 64 credit hours completed over a period of 50 weeks. Upon successful completion of the program, graduates will be awarded a diploma.

This program is represented to lead to multiple job opportunities and is not meant to lead to any particular outcome, including that specified in the program title. Although the College will assist the student with job placement, finding a job is the ultimate responsibility of the student. The College does not guarantee that any student will be placed in any particular job, or at all.


Hamilton College, Massage Therapy

The objective of the Massage Therapy program is to provide students with a solid and basic foundation of knowledge and skills in the areas of anatomy, physiology, hydrotherapy and massage and body therapies to enable them to become employable as entry-level Massage Therapists or establish their own businesses. In addition, this program is to provide the knowledge and skills training necessary for students to take and pass the NCBTMB certification examination and other related state and local certification and/or licensure requirements.

Although certain programs at Hamilton College are designed to prepare students to take various certification or licensing exams, the College cannot guarantee students will pass those exams.

The program consists of 74 credit hours completed over a period of 50 weeks. Upon successful completion of the program, graduates will be awarded an a diploma in Massage Therapy.

Hamilton College, Medical Assistant

The objective of the Medical Assistant program is to prepare students with the knowledge, technical skills, and work habits required for an entry-level position as a medical assistant. Students in the program are required to submit evidence of good health by having a physical exam, including a TB test, up-to-date immunizations, and screening for Hepatitis, as well as following a dress code.

Although certain programs at Hamilton College are designed to prepare students to take various certification or licensing exams, the College cannot guarantee the student will pass those exams. In some cases, field experience may be necessary to be eligible to take or to successfully pass the exams.

Duties for the graduates of this program will include performing laboratory, clinical, and medical office procedures, and include routine laboratory tests such as blood work, venipuncture, urinalysis, and electrocardiograms. They assist the doctor in patient preparation, examination, and other patient relations. Competence in the field also requires a medical assistant to display professionalism, communicate professionally, and provide instruction to patients. The Medical Assistant program consists of a minimum of 96 credit hours completed over a period of 21 months. This program is represented to lead to multiple job opportunities and is not meant to lead to any particular outcome, including that specified in the program title. Hamilton College, Practical Nursing

The objective of the Practical Nursing program is to prepare students with the knowledge, technical skills and work habits required for entry-level positions as Practical Nurses. Students are trained to give direct care to clients under the supervision of a physician or registered nurse.

Nursing responsibilities may include direct patient care, the administration of medication, and the application of procedures and treatments.

The length of the program for day students is 50 weeks. All students must complete the program with 84 credit hours. Upon successful completion of the program, graduates will be awarded a diploma. Students must complete all coursework and maintain a C- or better GPA to progress in the PN program.

This program is designed to lead to entry-level employment in the field, or to jobs in related fields, the specific job titles of which may not be that specified in the program title. Although the College will assist the student with job placement, finding a job is the ultimate responsibility of the student.
