Medical Laboratory Technician Training at Apollo College

Medical Laboratory Technician:

Medical Laboratory Technicians are trained in performing various laboratory procedures and in determining the outcome of those tests and procedures. In addition, Medical Laboratory Technicians are taught the various body systems in relationship to tests and procedures that the technician will perform. Medical Laboratory Technicians often work directly with patients, but may work in a laboratory environment where little or no patient contact is required.

The Medical Laboratory Technician is a critical member in the delivery of medical care, providing vital patient information to direct-care providers. The Medical Laboratory Technician performs routine laboratory tests, provides accurate processing and assessments, and assists the physician in determining appropriate patient treatment plans.

Upon completion of classroom instruction, students will be monitored during their first year of laboratory experience at an approved laboratory or health care facility.

Therefore, our students that are eligible for financial aid can apply for all of the same federal grants and loans that they would qualify for if they applied to any major university.

Apollo College participates in a wide variety of state and federal financial aid programs, as well as alternative loans. If eligible, these can be used as an additional source of funding for tuition, books, and tools.
