American Commercial Colleges Medical Assistant Program Overview:
Medical Assisting is a program designed to teach students the skills and abilities essential to work in the physician's office, clinics, and other health-related offices. Graduates of this program will be able to perform a variety of administrative skills in the medical office such as coding and computers. The student also will learn anatomy and physiology, basic laboratory techniques and clinical procedures relative to patient care and servicing. Graduates from this program may find employment in entry-level positions such as receptionist, coding and insurance clerk, unit secretary, clinical application (such as taking vital signs), patient service care, phlebotomist, or administrative assistant. These types of careers are in Doctor's offices, clinics, long term nursing facilities, regional and state hospitals, and other medical related fields.
