The University of Texas Medical Branch (UTMB) has the mission to provide scholarly teaching, pioneering scientific investigation and the best of the technology to improve the health of the society.
The School of Allied Health Sciences is located in Texas and has graduated over 6,000 professionals for the nation?s healthcare workforce. This school offers careers in Physical Therapy, Occupational Therapy, Physician Assistant Studies, Clinical Laboratory Scientist, Respiratory Care and Psychology.
Nursing School is the first School of Nursing in Texas, located in Galveston Island. This school provides services to students such as Orientation, Career Fair, Recruitment Academic Support Programs, Student Awards and Office of Student Life.
The other school part of UTMB is the Medicine School. It offers more than 29 residencies and 40 subspecialty fellowship programs such as Neurology, Radiology, Pediatrics, Surgery, Dermatology and more.
The Biomedical Science School has programs in Cell Biology, Medical Humanities, Pharmacology and Toxicology, Medical Science and Experimental Pathology, among others. It also offers specialized training in Space Life Science, Advanced Business Management Certificate Program, Science, Law and Society Certificate.
Finally, the Institute for the Medical Humanities is engaged in research on ethical and legal problems in clinical practice and biomedical research. It also offers historical, visual literary and religious dimensions of the medicine and health care.
