Alvin Community College (ACC) in located in Alvin, Texas and is a public, two-year community college dedicates to promote the dignity and worth of all individuals. ACC believes in opportunities for lifelong education.

ACC is focused on developing a high-quality and strong education. It offers post-secondary education services such as occupational, technical, college, transfer and adult programs.

Alvin College provides accessible educational services with varied formats, schedules and full or part time programs to fulfill students? needs and abilities. ACC has a variety of career opportunities in communications, math, science, humanities, interpersonal skills and reasoning.

For those people interested in a health services career, ACC has the Emergency Medical Technology (EMT) Program and Certificate Program. The study plan includes class lecture, skill training and clinical training in hospital and ambulance setting.

Another option is the Respiratory Care that prepares people to have advanced, intensive-care skills to assess, monitor and evaluate adults, pediatric and neonatal patients on mechanical ventilations. Courses of Respiratory Care students are in classroom, laboratory and supervised hospital.

The Sonography Programs offers courses in cardiac and vascular ultrasound. This program provides students with the necessary skills to perform ultrasound and related diagnostic exams of the heart and blood vessels.

Finally, the Nursing Academy offers programs in Associate Degree in Nursing, Nursing Transition LVN to RN and Vocational Nursing.

The Associate Degree in Nursing Program is accredited by the Board of Nurse Examiners for the State of Texas and the National League for Nursing Accrediting Commission.

The Vocational Nursing program is twelve months, three semesters and 44 credit hours longer program. It has the purpose to prepare to vocational nurse to work as a vital member of a health care team and care patients under the supervision of a registered nurse or physician.
