Bergen Community College

Bergen Community College was born in 1965 with the mission to provide high quality, relevant and varied educational programs and opportunities.

College enrolls more than 14,000 students in different programs, for example, Associate in Arts, Associate in Science and Associate in Applied Science degree programs and certificate programs.

The College has also developed non-credit, professional development courses by its Continuing Education Division and prepares students for transfer to four-year colleges and universities or for entry into a career.

In its concern about the environment for the students, Bergen offers open admissions, small classes, affordable tuition, dedicated faculty, outstanding student services, flexible scheduling and student centered campus.

Career programs are designed for students who plan to begin a career immediately after graduation in different fields. Allied Health is one of the academies that offers Dental Hygiene, Diagnostic Medical Sonography, Health Science, Medical Laboratory Technology, Physical Therapist Assistant, Radiography, Respiratory Therapy, Vascular Technology and Nursing and online courses include Nursing studies.

Bergen Community College has an open door policy that allows anyone with a high school diploma or its equivalent to enter most of the programs at the college.

As part of the admission process, people are required to take the New Jersey College Basic Skills Placement Test, which assess the verbal and mathematical skills of the individuals who take it. This information will be used to determine whether special coursework is needed for the student to be better prepared.
