Community College Week magazine ranked Carl Albert State College in the sixth position among the fastest-growing two-year colleges in the United States. They were founded in 1933 with the name of Poteau Junior College. This institution is located in Poteau, Oklahoma; however, it has a branch of campuses in Sallisaw.
Majors like Registered Nurse, Physical Therapist Assistant licensure and Radiology Technology are included in their Division of Health Science.
