Carl Albert State College: The Portrait of a Healthy Environment

Community College Week magazine ranked Carl Albert State College in the sixth position among the fastest-growing two-year colleges in the United States. They were founded in 1933 with the name of Poteau Junior College. This institution is located in Poteau, Oklahoma; however, it has a branch of campuses in Sallisaw.

Majors like Registered Nurse, Physical Therapist Assistant licensure and Radiology Technology are included in their Division of Health Science. The degree program of this last major is only offered in the whole area only by this institution. In addition, they are housed at Eastern Oklahoma Medical Center. The fact that all nursing graduates passed their licensure examinations this year demonstrates the high-quality of the majors given there.
It is definitely proven that they practice what they preach.  CASC is really concerned about promoting a healthy campus not only for students but also for employees.  The meals offered in their cafeteria are carefully chosen and prepared.  Their students have a Cardiovascular Room at their disposal, it can be used to work out and do aerobics.

Besides these benefits there are other resources available such as campus police, a bookstore, financial aid, intramural sports, residential programs, scholarships, student support services and trio programs.

The Northeastern State University (NSU), the MidAmerica Christian University (MACU), the Southeastern Oklahoma State University (SOSU) and the Franklin University in Columbus, Ohio are among the partnerships that this college has developed in order to make bachelors and masters level programs accessible for their students.
