Cecil Community College: Offering Everything to Succeed

Cecil Community College is located in North East, Mary Land. They have served around 35,000 individuals since the day that their doors were opened in 1968. Through the years Cecil has experimented great development and growth regarding their population, facilities and services.

At Cecil students have the possibility to choose among associate degrees, certificate programs, non-credit course offers and certifications. They also have different types of courses at their disposal: courses for licensure, job preparation and training for the community and industry.

In their division of Allied Health students can select one of the following programs: Certified Medicine Aide, Certified Nursing Assistant, CPR, EMT/Paramedic, Health Unit Coordinator, Licensed Practical Nurse, Medical Assistant, Medical Billing & Coding, Medical Transcription, Phlebotomy and Registered Nurse.

Students who are willing to take credit classes at this college must have a high-school diploma or GED. Besides, individuals must fill-out the corresponding applications for admission. These are the only requirements that the institution asks for.

In the year 2002 Cecil students were given over 1 million dollars in grants and scholarships. This was a reality due to the fact that the institution considers that money should not be a restraint in order to get enrolled in a high-quality college and reach professional and personal success. This is the reason why they provide financial aid and scholarships for those students who qualify.

There are two types of scholarships to which students are allowed to apply: the Merit-based one, which is assigned to those individuals who have a great GPA and the Need-based one, which is the kind of scholarship that is exclusive for people who are unable to pay for their education. In order to acquire these grants it is imperative that students submit the FAFSA (the Free Application for Federal Student Aid) once it is completed.
