Because the medical marketplace demands it, we offer degrees and diplomas in Dental Assisting, Health Information Technology, Massage Therapy, Medical Assisting, Medical Billing and Coding, and Surgical Technology, leading to long-term sustainable careers for our graduates.

Financial Aid:
Study at Miami-Jacobs is a wise investment in your future. To help with the cost, we will talk with you about qualifying for a package of assistance (after your Discovery Session). We also will give you a copy of The Student Guide from the Department of Education to help you understand the financial aid process.

Some of our statistics:

  • 95% of Miami-Jacobs students take advantage of some form of financial/tuition assistance.
  • 66% were awarded Federal or state grants in 2002 (money that does not need to be paid back).
  • 90% qualified for government or other student loans in 2002 (money that needs to be paid back.)After you meet with an Admissions Representative for your Discovery Session, you will need to bring certain items to your financial appointment, according to your dependency status. One of our professional financial aid representatives will personally take you through the financial aid application process.

Career Services:
Career planning at Miami-Jacobs is not a separate effort, undertaken only at the end of your program of study. Career planning is integral to the student experience here, and will begin during your Discovery Session, which is the very first step in the admissions process.

We know you will best succeed when you are matched to the right program, so we spend focused time with you, talking about career goals and life goals. Once you are matched to the program that suits you best, your Career Advocate and Academic Advisor both monitor progress along the path so that you emerge at graduation highly skilled, completely prepared, and in demand.

Miami Jacobs ensures graduate success through Career Readiness Seminars. These seminars are unique to Miami-Jacobs and are designed to help students develop the tools necessary for a thorough and meaningful career search.

Accreditation
Miami-Jacobs College is accredited to award certificates, diplomas, and associate degrees by the Accrediting Council for Independent Colleges and Schools. The Accrediting Council for Independent Colleges and Schools is listed as a nationally recognized accrediting agency by the United States Department of Education. Its accreditation of degree granting institutions also is recognized by the Council for Higher Education Accreditation. The College is:

  • Approved by the Ohio Department of Education for the training of veterans.
  • Licensed by the State of Ohio Board of Career Colleges and Schools Registration.
  • Approved as an eligible institution under State and Federally Guaranteed Student Loan Programs and under National Direct Student Loan Program.
  • The Ohio Board of Nursing granted the Practical Nursing program at Miami-Jacobs Career College Conditional Approval. Conditional Approval is the standard approval level for all new Nursing programs.
  • CAAHEP (the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs), accredits our Surgical Technology program at the Dayton Campus and Medical Assisting programs at the Columbus, Dayton, Troy and Springboro campuses.
  • The State Medical Board has approved the Massage Therapy program.
  • The State Dental Board has approved the Radiology Class within the Dental Assisting program at the Springboro Campus.

Medical Assisting Program Accreditation:
The Miami-Jacobs Career College Medical Assisting Associate Degree Programs at the Dayton, Springboro, Troy, Sharonville and Columbus campuses are accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs (www.caahep.org) upon the recommendation of the Medical Assisting Education Review Board (MAERB). The Springboro, Troy, Sharonville and Columbus campuses are approved as branch campuses of the Miami-Jacobs Career College Dayton campus.

Miami-Jacobs College is authorized to award certificates, diplomas and associate degrees by the State Board of Career Colleges and Schools Registration, 35 East Gay Street, Suite 403, Columbus, OH 43215-3138, (614-466-2752).

Miami-Jacobs Career College offers educational services, namely, courses of instruction at the college level.

The program in dental assisting at the Springboro Campus is accredited by the Commission on Dental Accreditation. The Commission is a specialized accrediting body recognized by the United States Department of Education.

The college is authorized by the Ohio State Board of Cosmetology to confer Associate Degrees, Diplomas and Certificates.
